Born on April 8th 1947 in Merano (BZ) Italy.

Childhood in Dorf Tirol and Gais, High School in Merano and California (Cate School, Carpinteria).

  • Bachelor of Arts, Rutgers University, New Jersey 1969 (English)
  • Laurea in Lingue e Letterature Straniere (M.A.), Univerisitá degli Studi di Urbino 1972/73. Tesi di Laurea: „Il Paradiso Spezzato dei Cantos“. Relatore Prof. Alfredo Rizzardi.
  • Diplom, Obst– und Weinbauschule Laimburg in Pfatten (BZ), 1978.

Professional experience:

  • Full-time ethnologist responsible for the inventarisation of historical farms and material culture, Landesdenkmalamt, Autonome Provinz Bozen-Südtirol, 1980-1990.
  • Director of the Schloss Tirol Museum of History, Autonome Provinz Bozen-Südtirol, 1991-2013.

 

Other activities:

  • Founder and Director of the Brunnenburg Agricultural Museum and International Study Center.
